What is EE101? Why should I care?

Despite being well trained in several gold standard modalities, I have been frustrated by how the struggle to BE with emotions challenges the best of us… especially when when I have worked with couples.  Then I ran into Emotions Education 101…

This lead me on a quest to find more of what was missing… I found part of it in a book called “ It’s Not Always Depression.” by Hillary Jacobs Hendel, LCSW. I found another part of it in a course called “Emotional Education 101/EE101″ that was created by Heather Sanford, LCSW who had been inspired by Hillary’s book.  She took the information to another level such that it gets it  “in your bones” (embodied).

THIS was the missing piece that has been eluding my clients!!!  The link between knowing something (mind) & truly getting it (mind-body), such that when push comes to shove,  like during stressful moments or conflict, the way to cope is there for you in a way it’s never been before.  It is the “how to” of more successful emotional regulation and engagement.

Part of a couple? Great!  It’s wonderful for individuals but can you imagine if BOTH of you had more tools to feel and deal under stress?  Amazing! It is it is as much about your relationship with yourself as it is about enhancing the relationship you have with others.  Those in couples will have the opportunity to be in separate experiential groups to facilitate being able to have their own experience metabolizing the material to better apply it with their partner later.

I took the train the trainer course taught by both Hillary and Heather to be able to teach and facilitate the EE101 course and then went through it as a participant with my husband because I found the course THAT valuable.  It has helped us to each to better understand  how to BE with our emotions which in turn helps us be more balanced with each other when emotional.
